After many Fridays spent giving hectic schedules of tuition, early mornings of school, and most of all, solitary nights... I can finally say: TGIF!!!!!!

Yes I still dragged myself to school this early morning, but rushed to the airport almost immediately after that to meet Andrea for lunch! We then went for some sun-tanning before we talked over dinner. Dessert was awesome and both of us, despite not being big fans of chocolate, LOVED the lava cake on vanilla ice cream.

Now I'm seated at Starbucks facing Terminal 1's Arrival hall. Patiently, yet excitedly to see the face I haven't seen for 2 months.

Once again, Thank god it's Friday.

 The D i s t a n c e that Separates

2 months without you seemed so difficult. But in reality we grew so strong, even apart. There's gonna be many more periods without you -- be it 2 weeks or 2 months or 1 year --, but i'm only looking forward to pushing the once-boundaries of our relationship, exploring my strengths, conquering my weaknesses. This is indeed a blessing in disguise.

You said what you miss most is when you kiss me on both cheeks in the morning until i frown in my sleep. You told a friend and he said he "don't feel you" because he's single. I'm glad how we have our own distinctive traits as a couple; how we can only get more and more accustomed to each other's cheeky conduct; how only you can have the patience to make me more than just happy.

And I love how we still do things together despite the distance that separates us.

This distance separates us, yet at the same time, draws us so much closer to one another.

Yesterday I entered the premises of school thrilled to feel the western breeze of Singapore on my skin and to breathe in the air we were once accustomed to.

I entered my classroom gathering a sense of familiarity: the scent of newly renovated, technology-savvy tutorial rooms.. freezing as usual.

It was a long summer!

I have been unintentionally waking up every early morning. The first thing I do: check my whatsapp. Then I'll fall back asleep an hour or two later, happy to know that you've flown well and have had your meal.

Everyday I feel so so so tired from this routine, from being half-asleep half-worried.

But at least I won't have to spend the wee hours of the morning tossing and turning, missing you.

 Somewhere closer to home

Yesterday night, Mr XYZ commented (with an annoyingly rude tone) that i am a pampered girl because "wah go Europe twice ah". To be frank, i was really insulted. Just because i've travelled the world, been to places you can not go, been to the places you want to go... i become a brat?

Dear Mr XYZ, if you want to go to France Italy USA Switzerland Belgium Holland Australia etc etc, (and as a 25 year old), please buck up, work for the money, and stop being sore.

Yes i've travelled to many places, but that only made me see more, and realise more. I've stopped taking pocket money from my parents and YOU, Mr XYZ, need to be thoroughly thoroughly ashamed.

Sour grapes.

It might sound odd, but i enjoy trekking up the muddy hills of Kota Kinabalu, soaking in the atmosphere with shisha and some beer by the streets of KL, having my feet all black from fuel of Bangkok's dirty roads...

alot alot alot more than being elevated by an expensively-engineered cable car to the peak of the Swiss Alps, sitting by the Venetian river eating pasta, or drinking beer by the bar alongside Eiffel Tower.

& you call me pampered, Mr XYZ.
